Welcome to Mika Hounds!
Thank you for shopping with us. At Mika Hounds, we believe every dog deserves the very best, regardless of breed, shape or size.
We offer a range of dog products, including toys, treats, enrichment products, accessories and other essentials, available through our online shop and in-store.
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before purchasing from us. By placing an order, you agree to the terms set out below, subject to your statutory consumer rights.
1. About Us
Mika Hounds is a UK-based retailer specialising in dog products, enrichment and accessories.
We sell products through our e-commerce website and physical shop.
Business name: Mika Hounds

2. Products and Availability
We aim to provide accurate descriptions, photographs and prices for all our products.
Please note:
Product colours, packaging and designs may occasionally vary from photographs.
All products are subject to availability.
We reserve the right to discontinue products or update our product range without prior notice.
Product information, including ingredients, sizes and suitability, is provided to help customers make informed choices.
Prices and promotions may differ between our online and physical shop.
If an item becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact you and offer an alternative, where appropriate, or a refund for the unavailable item.
3. Pricing and Payments
All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (£).
Any applicable VAT will be included in the advertised price.
Delivery charges, where applicable, will be clearly displayed before checkout.
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout and those advertised in-store.
Payment must be completed before online orders are dispatched or goods are released for collection.
We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing errors. If an error affects an order, we will contact you before accepting or fulfilling it, giving you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel.
4. Online Orders
When placing an order through our website, you are responsible for ensuring your details are accurate, including your delivery address and contact information.
After placing an order, you will receive an order acknowledgement.
An order acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted. A contract is formed when we confirm acceptance of your order, normally through a dispatch or collection-ready confirmation.
We may decline an order where an item is unavailable, payment cannot be authorised or there is a genuine pricing or listing error.
Where payment has already been taken for an order we cannot fulfil, we will issue a refund.
5. Delivery
We aim to process and dispatch orders as quickly as possible.
Delivery times shown on our website are estimates unless we expressly agree a guaranteed delivery date.
Delivery charges and available shipping services will be displayed at checkout.
Please ensure your delivery address is correct before completing your purchase.
If an order is delayed or lost in transit, please contact us so we can investigate.
We remain responsible for goods until they come into your physical possession, or the possession of someone you have nominated to receive them, in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Your statutory rights regarding late or failed delivery are not affected.
6. Click & Collect
Where Click & Collect is available, customers can place an order online and collect it from our shop.
Please wait until you receive confirmation that your order is ready before travelling to collect it.
Collection must take place during our advertised opening hours or at a mutually agreed time.
Please bring your order confirmation when collecting.
If an order remains uncollected, we will attempt to contact you to arrange collection or cancellation.
Your statutory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.
7. Returns and Refunds – Online Purchases
We want you and your dog to be happy with your purchase.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, most customers purchasing goods online have the right to cancel their order within 14 days of receiving their goods, without giving a reason.
To exercise this right, please contact us within the cancellation period.
After notifying us of cancellation, you normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.
Items should be returned with reasonable care and, where possible, in their original packaging.
Customers are responsible for return postage costs for change-of-mind returns, provided these costs have been disclosed before purchase.
We will refund the price of the cancelled goods and the standard outbound delivery charge where legally required. Additional charges for premium delivery services are not normally refundable.
Refunds will be made within the time limits required by law, normally within 14 days of receiving returned goods or evidence that they have been sent back.
We may make a lawful deduction if goods have been handled beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Items Excluded From Change-of-Mind Returns
Certain items may be exempt from the statutory cancellation right, including:
Sealed goods unsuitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed, where the legal exemption applies.
Products made to a customer's personal specifications or clearly personalised.
Opening ordinary product packaging does not automatically remove your cancellation rights.
These exclusions do not affect your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
8. Returns – In-Store Purchases
For purchases made in our physical shop, we are not legally required to offer refunds or exchanges simply because a customer changes their mind.
Any voluntary change-of-mind return or exchange arrangements will be explained in-store.
If a product is faulty, not as described or does not meet the standards required by law, your statutory consumer rights still apply.
Please retain your receipt or other proof of purchase.
9. Faulty or Damaged Products
We take great care when selecting and supplying our products.
If an item arrives damaged, is faulty or is not as described, please contact us with your order number and details of the problem.
Photographs may help us resolve the issue more quickly, but they are not a mandatory condition of exercising your legal rights.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement.
Where goods do not conform to the contract, we will meet our legal obligations, including applicable return costs.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your statutory rights.
10. Dog Toys and Product Safety
At Mika Hounds, your dog's safety and happiness are extremely important to us.
Please remember:
No dog toy is completely indestructible.
Dogs should be supervised when using toys, chews and enrichment products.
Always choose products suitable for your dog's size, age, breed, chewing habits and individual needs.
Regularly inspect toys for damage, loose parts or excessive wear.
Remove damaged products from your dog immediately.
Follow all manufacturer instructions and safety warnings.
Ensure your dog has access to fresh drinking water, particularly when enjoying treats or chews.
Some toys are designed for enrichment, interactive play or supervised chewing and may not be suitable for prolonged unsupervised use.
Mika Hounds cannot guarantee that any toy will withstand every dog's chewing strength or behaviour.
This does not exclude our responsibility for defective or unsafe products or affect your statutory rights.
11. Dog Treats, Chews and Food Products
We stock a variety of treats, chews and food-related products intended for dogs.
Customers should:
Read ingredient lists and feeding instructions carefully.
Check suitability for their dog's age, size and dietary requirements.
Consider any known allergies, intolerances or medical conditions.
Store products according to packaging instructions.
Check best-before or use-by dates, where applicable.
Supervise dogs when feeding chews and treats.
If your dog has a medical condition, food allergy or special dietary requirements, please consult your veterinary surgeon before introducing new products.
Product descriptions and advice provided by Mika Hounds are for general information and are not a substitute for professional veterinary advice.
12. Product Durability and Wear
Dog toys and accessories will naturally experience wear and tear through normal use.
The lifespan of a product depends on several factors, including the dog's size, chewing strength, behaviour and frequency of use.
Normal wear and tear, or damage caused by misuse, is not necessarily a product fault.
However, customers retain all statutory rights where products are defective, not as described or not of satisfactory quality.
13. Promotions, Discount Codes and Special Offers
From time to time, Mika Hounds may offer promotional discounts, special offers or discount codes.
Unless otherwise stated:
Promotions are valid only during the advertised period.
Discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash.
Only one promotional code may be used per order.
Some products may be excluded from promotions.
Promotions may be available online, in-store or both.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend promotions where reasonably necessary, without affecting orders already accepted.
14. Gift Cards and Vouchers
Where gift cards or vouchers are offered, their value, expiry date and redemption conditions will be clearly stated at the time of purchase.
Gift cards cannot normally be exchanged for cash, except where required by law.
Any statutory cancellation rights applicable to online gift card purchases remain unaffected.
15. Website Use
All content on the Mika Hounds website, including photographs, logos, graphics, descriptions and written material owned by us, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You must not reproduce, copy or commercially use our original content without permission.
You agree not to misuse our website, attempt unauthorised access or interfere with its normal operation.
We aim to keep our website accurate, secure and available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access at all times.
16. Customer Accounts and Information
If you create an account on our website, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
Please ensure the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
We handle personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.
For further information, please see our separate Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
17. Liability
We aim to provide safe, high-quality products and accurate information.
We are not responsible for losses caused by improper product use, failure to follow clear safety instructions or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, except where the law provides otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing affects your statutory consumer rights.
18. Events Beyond Our Control
Occasionally, circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect our ability to fulfil an order.
These may include severe weather, courier disruption, supplier problems or other unexpected events.
We will make reasonable efforts to contact affected customers and minimise disruption.
Your legal rights regarding delayed delivery, cancellation and refunds will continue to apply.
19. Changes to Our Terms & Conditions
Mika Hounds may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our business, services or legal requirements.
The terms applicable to an order will generally be those in effect when that order was placed.
Any changes will be published on our website with an updated revision date.
20. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Customers retain any mandatory consumer protections and legal rights that apply to them.
